What is Perimenopause?
Perimenopause means "around menopause" and refers to the time during which your body makes the natural transition to menopause, marking the end of the reproductive years. Perimenopause is also called the menopausal transition. Women start perimenopause at different ages.
Breast Pain?
Women of all ages report having breast pain, also known as mastalgia. Pain can occur both before and after the menopause. However, breast pain is most common during the reproductive years.

Knowledge is the key to self-advocacy. Like anything else, the more you know, the better you understand, and the easier it is to talk to your physician about an issue. Many women don't feel comfortable talking about menopausal symptoms especially those that involved their sexual health.
This journey of self-education is an ongoing process, as individual needs change over time. There are three parts to becoming an effective self-advocate: knowing yourself, knowing your needs, and using your voice to get what you need.
